Why the Percentage in SSO OTR Must Be Exact
When filling out the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSO Recruitment Portal, you must enter your educational qualifications — Class 10th, 12th, graduation, and any higher degrees. Each qualification requires a percentage that is accurate to two decimal places.
This is not a formality. The SSO OTR system uses your percentage to determine your merit rank in competitive exams like Patwari, LDC, and RSMSSB CET. Even a difference of 0.01% can shift your rank by dozens of positions when lakhs of candidates are competing. The percentage you enter also gets verified against your original marksheet during document verification after selection — a mismatch at that stage causes automatic rejection regardless of your rank.
How to Find the Correct Percentage on Your Marksheet
Your official percentage is always printed on your marksheet. For RBSE Class 10th and 12th, look for the line that reads "Percentage of Marks Obtained" — use that exact figure. Do not calculate it yourself unless you are trying to verify the printed value.
For university degrees, the percentage appears on the final semester marksheet or a consolidated marksheet. If your university issues a CGPA (common for RTU and most Rajasthan affiliating universities), convert it using the formula prescribed by your institution — typically CGPA × 10. The quick CGPA converter at the top of this page handles that instantly.
If your marksheet shows grace marks, include them in your obtained marks — the Government of Rajasthan treats grace marks as part of your official score for merit calculation.
What Happens If I Enter the Wrong Percentage in OTR?
Correcting a wrong educational entry in OTR costs ₹300 per correction as of 2026. More critically, if the discrepancy surfaces during document verification after you have been selected in the merit list, your candidature can be cancelled — even if your name is at the very top of the list. This happens every cycle and affects hundreds of candidates who made honest rounding errors.
RPSC and RSMSSB typically open a correction window after each OTR registration period. But never rely on this. Enter the right value the first time using this calculator.
