Why Do SSO Forms Have Strict Photo Size Limits?
Rajasthan government recruitment portals enforce strict file size limits — typically 20KB minimum and 50KB maximum for photographs and 10KB to 20KB for signatures — to ensure the application database stays manageable across millions of applicants. A file that is too small is often rejected because it is considered too low quality for identity verification. A file that is too large is rejected by the server upload limit.
Most smartphones today take photos in the 3MB to 10MB range, which is 60 to 200 times larger than what the SSO form accepts. This tool uses the browser’s built-in Canvas API to resize your photo to the exact pixel dimensions and then runs a binary-search compression algorithm to bring the file size within the target KB range — without ever sending your photo anywhere.
How to Take the Right Photo for a Government Form
- Use a plain white or light grey background — no busy patterns or outdoor scenes
- Face the camera directly — no tilt, no sunglasses, no head covering (unless religious)
- Recent photo only — taken within the last 6 months
- Good even lighting — no harsh shadows on the face
- Face should occupy 70–80% of the frame — not too far, not too close
- Eyes must be clearly visible and open
- Save from your phone as JPG format before uploading here
How to Capture a Proper Signature for Digital Upload
Sign your name in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper. Use a consistent, clean signature — not rushed or smudged. Photograph it with your phone camera directly from above in good lighting. Crop out any background, leaving only the signature on white. Then use the Signature preset on this tool to compress it to the 10–20KB range at 140×60 pixels.
